Cardinal in Snow

Not a lot of snow this winter, but we did get a few (c. 3”)inches of pretty snow on December 8th, and I managed to take this picture of a male Northern cardinal through my window with my iPhone.

April Storm

Not sure how much snow we got but I’d guess at least five inches. It was a wet, heavy snow, and knocked the power out for a couple of days.

I took this picture at 6:55 AM on Thursday April 4th, while it was still snowing, and before the really heavy winds kicked in.

Fish Crow

I actually took this picture a week ago today, during the previous snow fall. It’s taken me that long to decide what the bird was. It was crow-black, and had a crow-typical perch, but it wasn’ the mammoth size of the local American crows. It is, I think (after consulting my sibling and expert birder brother) a Fish Crow (Corvus ossifragus). They are here, and fairly common, but I usually hear them rather than see them. This one was perched for quite a while:
